Hello everyone and welcome back, I have been waiting for this, I know YOU have been waiting for this … a new CHMLN blog !!! No but honestly I really do appreciate every single one of you reading through all of this. I know we all are consumed in our own busy lives, so taking the time to really go in and read through somebody else’s means a great deal to me. THANK YOU.

Bad News

ALRIGHT THEN enough of the kind words, we have a lot on the agenda so let’s get through it! First on my list is an update from last time, regarding my fermentation hobby…so: I am very sorry to disappoint you, the cucumbers did not go well either. I left it in the brine shorter this time to try to make the flavor less overwhelmingly salty, but I know learned that apparently in order to make the flavor LESS intense you have to leave it in the brine LONGER…so I should start a third experiment…I am just not sure if my heart can take another dissappointment :D

And that was all of our BAD NEWS !!! Everything else on this list is positive news … isn’t life great ???

I guess I call this: Fashion

But now the question is, what do we continue with… oh yes one of my personal highlights, I took my first photos of a fashion show this month. I got invited by a friend of mine to shoot her collection at the Amsterdam Fashion Week and OMG it was a BLAST !!! I was only a little bit scared in the beginning, just because it was a new first again for me, and I did not want to look like an amateur. It did not help this feeling when my flash didn’t work for the first 20 minutes and I panicked trying to figure out what happened … turns out, I didn’t attach it properly…so far so good in not looking like an amateur. After that though everything went quite smoothly, I was very happy with the pictures and the show was fantastic! There was another moment in the show when I doubted myself because I realized I was the only one shooting at the opposite direction of ALL THE OTHER TWENTY photographers there...but honestly I liked what I shot there, and now at least I know that nobody else got the same pictures ;) And again, I am really proud of these photos. I was so excited on the way back home to start editing that I worked until 3 AM when all the pictures were done…it was a very fulfilling day and I hope to be back to shooting fashion shows!

And talking about fashion, there actually is more news, but not much yet…other than: I got a call the other day from my friend Christopher asking me to come up with another project we can do together, and we both agreed we wanted to make a fashion film. We are still very much in pre production there so stay tuned in future episodes, but I am also really excited to get this one going as well. Christopher and I have shot my last 2 dance films together and he also filmed my final, it was always so fun to get to work with him, and now WE’VE GOT THE BAND BACK TOGETHER…stay tuned for more!!!

(Okay honestly please tell me, how annoying are those stay tuned things…like I just can’t tell you more as of now but also I am excited about it so I wanna share it from the beginning - but I also don’t want to rebrand this blog into the cliffhanger report you know?)

Alright new title…RELEASES

Cool, do I need to say more ?

Okay, okay, I will. So this month, there were actually THREE new YouTube videos. The first one I have already spoken about in I think all the previous blogs, it was the video about the pictures I took at The Weeknd show. I think I have said enough.

The next video was the next video from my graduation show, Every Second Counts. One of my favorite songs from that show. And the one in which I come on stage in the beginning and where the dancers come in at the very end. So a very quick recap of the entire show in some sense. And from the beginning this was the song that was supposed to capture the energy I wanted everyone to feel when the concert started. It felt very good to write this and play it, I don’t fully understand why but just this very literal translation of play a song about how it should feel to hear this song actually worked wonders in my brain…

And the last video is A LOVE LETTER TO MOTORSPORT - and that one holds a special place in my heart. It is I would say one of the first videos that really is what I want to do on my YouTube channel. I want to share love and happiness and joy, get people interested in things that I think are worth to care about. And this was the first video I created where I really thought like, yes this is what I wanna do with this channel. BACK TO CLIFFHANGER CORNER:

Because there is another video I am currently working on, that I think even tops the motorsport video in terms of me being excited about sharing it. I don’t want to say too much just yet, but it will be about the new Season of Ted Lasso, as well as about CARE. If you haven’t watched Ted Lasso, I am sorry but you are missing out on a very beautiful life.

Anyways back to stuff that actually is OUT NOW. Next to the YouTube videos, I also released a new single on streaming platforms. The first song from my graduation, Ripples is now also available without video.

And the next ones are coming too. I have this very weird distribution plan now where there should be one video from my final coming out each month as well as one song, but the songs are like two months delayed, so you will get a new video and a song from two months ago…maybe its stupid, maybe it is genius ? ONLY TIME WILL TELL !!!

TALKING ABOUT GENIUS

Slightly off of my work stuff, but another personal story. For the 20 year anniversary of CARS this month, my friends and I have met up to do the first ever CARS GRAND PRIX. A cars marathon at home with a project, homemade burgers and cake. Cars is an absolutely BANGER of a movie, only topped by CARS 2 !!! Unfortunately we started the movies way to late, so the marathon turned out to be only the first movie…but it is just not right to watch CARS 2 when you are not absolutely ready for it…so we just have to come back to the second CARS GRAND PRIX soon…

ANOTHER RELEASE, JUST NOT MINE … AND NOT HERE

You heard right hehehe. No I will explain: A little while ago, my friend Ben asked me to do some additional music writing for his first ever movie he would compose for as the main composer. Of course I said yes and the whole process of working on this with him was a big big blast ! And this the film got its actual cinema release in the US and now it is out on demand - unfortunately as of now only in the US … so I haven’t seen the final version myself :D But I know the music on it is great, and actually even the New York Times released an article saying that you should watch it…so I guess the assignment is clear. The film is called C.O.G. and is a horror/slasher movie about an AI start up :)

MORE. HORROR. MOVIES. ALWAYS.

While we are on the topic of horror movies, I am also happy that I can share that I am currently also working on my first full length movie as a composer, and how could it be any different, of course it is also a horror film. But now we are back in Cliffhanger Corner hehehe you just have to wait and stay tuned for this one as well.

Cliffhanger Corner Big Time.

Yeah sorry, there are a few more things that I want to tease but can not tell you more about right now.
Firstly, this month we filmed the first music video for my friends behind NAÉ. We went to Alkmaar and to the sea and filmed a beautiful little music video. Now we will go into the post production with it and I hear it will be released somewhere between February and March of 2027.

ALSO between February and March of 2027, I will organize my first own concert. Together with my label Petite Victory Collective, I am bringing together 5 Live Electronic Music Artists from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland to play a great evening of Music, combining it with Dance (what else is new) and hopefully some fun visuals.

Goodbye and Goodbye

Last but not least, I am now officially graduated :) Like really bureaucratically graduated with a paper and everything. Isn’t that exciting ? No but honestly, we had a wonderful little ceremony at school where we all got our papers and could celebrate one last time all together. We even had a wonderful playlist (that I made for the graduates last year, but they reused it again, so in some way time travel me made a playlist for my own graduation, and THAT SHOULD BE THE HEADLINE!!!!) After that I had a wonderful dinner with my parents and girlfriend and now it is done done. I am no longer a student, I no longer can get any student discount anywhere…isn’t it weird that you work so hard for four years and during that time you get all the benefits and discounts, but when you actually manage to complete everything, that take away your discount ?! Like excuse me !!! Now is the time when the REAL DISCOUNTS should start!!!

Anyways, this has been it for this month. I hope you had a lovely September enjoyed the last few warm days. I am so ready for fall now, I want tea and candles and blankets and cozy movies and a fireplace…not sure my landlord would like the last point though…anyways. Goodbye
